Disability

Short-term disability (STD) pays you a percentage of your weekly salary when a non work-related illness, injury or pregnancy temporarily prevents you from working. Long-term disability (LTD) coverage allows you to continue receiving part of your pay – even if you can’t work due to a disability. LTD coverage will replace a portion of your monthly income after you have been totally disabled (as defined by the plan) for 90 days. Salaried Employees are eligible for the following:
- Company provided Short-Term Disability of $200 per week.
- Voluntary Short-Term Disability buy-up of 60% of your weekly pay to maximum of $2,000.
- Company provided Long-Term Disability of 60% of your monthly base pay up to a maximum of $10,000.
Hourly Employees are eligible for the following for:
- Voluntary Short-Term Disablity of 50% of your weekly base pay up to a maximum of $2,000
- Voluntary Long-Term Disability of 50% of your monthly base pay up to a maximum of $2,000
Employees who work in the state of California are covered by the state plan. If you live in a state that requires your employer to offer STD benefits, your disability will be administered with MetLife. This applies to employees in New York, New Jersey and Hawaii.
Basic Life Insurance
You are automatically enrolled in a benefit of one times your annual salary for Group Term Life Insurance
through MetLife.
Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance
This protection is in addition to your Group Life Insurance coverage and can give you and your family
extra financial security should a sudden accident take your life or cause you serious loss or harm.
Supplemental Life and AD&D Insurance
You can enroll in additional life and AD&D insurance with MetLife. You can elect up to eight times your annual salary, up to $1.5 million of coverage.
Dependent coverage options are also available for your
spouse and children:
- Spouse coverage available in $10,000 increments
- Children coverage available in $5,000 increments
